Don’t give up on yourself

Stacia kalinoski is an Author,

speaker, and

award-winning JOURNalIST

The TV news career Stacia loved ended suddenly due to a seizure she had no control over. The aftermath made one thing clear: brain surgery was her only chance to re-take control of her life, and she was willing to accept the risks. Stacia tapped into the determination and perseverance she developed as a reporter and marathoner, and now she’s helping audiences do the same.

Surgery inspired Stacia to create the award-winning documentary Brainstorm, as well as her new memoir Racing Uphill. Now she's sharing her story of resiliency and equips audiences with the tools to do the same. Stacia shares that resilience isn’t just bouncing back from difficult moments; it’s finding the courage to change course, reinforced through in her mantra:

Don’t Give Up On Yourself.

My memoir is coming July 2025!

Through her powerful storytelling, she not only raises vital public awareness
but also offers hope and encouragement to others navigating life with seizures.

2016 premiere documentary

BRAINSTORM

How does the brain suddenly flip a switch, start short-circuiting, and cause strange behavior that a person cannot control? With multiple types of seizures, education is needed to dispel myths and misunderstanding surrounding epilepsy. This documentary aims to reduce the stigma through education and personal stories, with a focus on the denial, stigma, hope and determination that comes with living with seizures. I wrote, edited and co-produced this documentary along with a small team of people.

Within 5 minutes of watching, I was in tears. FINALLY I found a movie that puts EVERYTHING I have tried to explain to so many people throughout my life into a platform I can share. Every feeling you described, I shared with you. Every tear that you shed, I shed with you.”
